the TromsQuest edition of the Snykovet Headband

These headbands are knitted in wool for outdoor fun with our dogs all year round. I also fit a thin fleece inside to keep the wind out.

Yarn: I mix and create new color combinations for each headband so that none of them are identical. In these ones I have used the lettlopi yarn, but other yarns of the same quality can also be used. See photos attached and my Instagram account for inspiration.

Husky headband diagram:

Cast on 108 stitches (sts) on needles 4 mm, join in the round.

Start with a #Latvianbraid (the first three lines of the diagram):

Round 1: Knit 1 round in light blue (Main Color = MC).

Round 2: Purl with MC and white yarn (Braid Color = BC) in the front, *P1 with MC, bring BC under MC, purl 1 with BC, bring MC under BC; repeat from * to end of round.

Round 3: *P1 with MC, bring BC over MC, P1 with MC, bring BC over MC; repeat from * to end of round.

Continue knitting the diagram avoiding long stretches of yarn on the wrong side by twist the yarns every second or third stitch.

Finish with a second Latvian braid. Then bind off.

Weave in ends of the wool yarn. Carefully damp the headband. Insert a matching thin fleece on inside the headband to keep the wind out.

I would love to see the headbands that you make on Instagram.
