Nova awarded the Norwegian Sled Dog / Working Dog Championate (N TCH) after the National Dog Show in Tromsø June 10-11 2023

N TCH Nova av Viddashusky and her son Snykovet´s Yukon at the dog show this weekend

SATURDAY - DAY 1 with judge Benny Blidh Von Schedvin from Sweden

Amazing day in the sun and the first dog show of the season with our youngsters Yukon and Nahanni (9 months), Nova (4 years) and Hilma (3 years). Nice critiques on all our dogs today and we got our first Norwegian Sled Dog / Working Dog Champion (N TCH).

The application for Nova´s championate title was approved by the Norwegian Kennel Club this Monday!

Nova got second best female, res CAC, with CQ (champion quality) and a red ribbon / Excellent. She has already gained 3 first prices / sled dog merits from races this last year and has now been awarded the NTCH title. She is the first champion in our team so lots of happy tears followed.

Hilma was super cool and happy ringside but went on strike the second she entered the ring with Ida-Helene and combined with being totally naked she got a yellow ribbon today / Good. We will show her again later when her coat is back!

Silje and Nahanni cuddles ringside.

Nahanni suddenly discovered two horses next to the ring and thought they were moose. Needless to say she is not very happy to meet moose since the attack on the dog yard. She got a blue ribbon / very good today.

Yukon making friends with a pack of little sweethearts.

Yukon had lost all his amazing puppy fur in the days prior to the show - but did a really good job in the ring. He got a blue ribbon / Very good like his sister Nahanni.

Normally Ida-Helene handles all the dogs - but today we had two dogs in the same class so I showed Nova. Such fun to be back in the ring again - especially with Nova who is such an easy dog to handle

Thanks to Silje and Gaute for all your hjelp and support ringside today!!!!

SUNDAY - DAY 2 with judge Anne-Chaterine Edoff from Sweden

Wonderful, warm day with a lots and lots of wind, seaguls and flying tents, chairs etc.

Snykovet's Yukon (9 months) and his mother N TCH Nova av Viddashusky (4 år) did an amazing job in the ring. Height was measured and all teeth counted on all dogs. Super training for our dogs who are both new to the ring.

Nova overcame her fear of flying tents (she was "attacked" by one of these when she was a puppy) and really enjoys chilling ringside in her box! Young Yukon is slightly manic when he gets out of the car - keen for action - but after an hour he has landed, is focused and a real cutie!

Ida-Helene rocks at handling and dog showing - and I rock at being her rock. Today we also got to the dog show cafe in time for some lovely cake when we had finished in the ring.

Nova got Excellent / a red ribbon and Yukon Very Good / a blue ribbon due to his moulting fur and not yet being fully grown. Both dogs received very nice words/critiques from the judge. Eight dogs took part in the competition but no dogs got CAC or CQ (champion quality) today. Nahanni and Hilma relaxed at home - but will be back in the ring in later competitions.
