Nova’s dates with Sirius av Ulvhild in Narvik resulted in 6 beautiful puppies - 3 girls and 3 boys - born Aug 19. Two of the girls are white like polar bear cubs, one boy black and white, and the rest agouti. Their great grand father, Shaytaan´s Psycho Killer, was also golden white - just like the two girls. Psycho Killer was an amazing lead dog - a four times Yukon Quest finisher and one time Iditarod finisher. So we take this as a good sign!

Although it seems like the color genes from Sirius «won» as none of them resembles Nova. .. we still hope that we will recognize some of Nova’s qualities in her offsprings as they get older! Nova av Viddashusky was the physically most robust female in our FL600 team finishing the race together with Ida-Helene last winter. She is beautifully built, sweet tempered and super smart. She is also really strong and we miss her deeply in the team now that the autumn training has started.

Young Sirius is a very promising lead dog and a brilliant trotter. He has an amazing temper - a very sweet and social boy.

Ida-Helene had made a long list of names from Canada and Alaska. We selected the following:

• Snykovet’s Mirabel 510 g (white female)
• Snykovet’s Jasper 492 g (agouti male)
• Snykovet’s Nahanni alias Heart 473 g (agouti female)
• Snykovet’s Tulita 462 g (white female)
• Snykovet’s Nome alias Batman 460 g (black and white male)
• Snykovet’s Yukon 571 g (agouti male) - biggest puppy ever to be born in our kennel

Nova was mated twice on June 11 and June 20 with calculated due dates August 13 and August 22. She gave birth August 19 - to puppies ranging in weight from 460 to 571 grams. We expect that the heavier puppies resulted from the first mating (born "late") and the lighter ones from the last mating (born "early").

Answering the questions that many are asking: We will keep 2-3 of the puppies. We have not made any promises for the rest. Or decided which ones that will stay. This will come later. We will use time and follow our heart in the process of selecting future homes for the puppies that become available.
